Today we gave the AnonymousExtension blacklist a long needed update.
This update changed how everything is set up behind the scenes too.
Previously we kept everything in one huge complicated text file, can
you imagine that?
So the process has been updated. The blacklist will now be maintained
in a JSON file and will be "compiled" into the normal blacklist file.
Any changes will be made to the JSON file and will be reflected in the
main blacklist file when new releases come out.
Enough about the process, in this update we actually removed
websites from the blacklist. Don't worry though! We started using more
keyword matching instead. So even though we removed some websites,
AnonymousExtension actually blocks even MORE trackers, ads, and
ip grabbers than before!
Given the improved keyword matching and better maintenance processes
you should be able to expect even faster (and more) updates in the future.
Oh yeah, we also updated the website and added a news feed, but your
reading on the website right now so you should know that.
